4-H is the youth development program of Maryland CooperativeExtension. 4-H teaches youth valuable life skillsthrough informal hands-on education. Youth participate inworkshops, field trips, camps, fairs, and club meetings to gainknowledge in their areas of interest.
4-H is open to youth ages 5-19. Youth have the opportunity toparticipate in community clubs, special interest groups, andindividual study.
4-H has been an active part of Howard County for over 80 years.Thousands of young people have participated in our 4-H programsdeveloping their skills in leadership, citizenship, andachievement.
4-H work is made possible through the efforts of the ExtensionEducators for 4-H and a cadre of trained community volunteers whocoordinate 4-H clubs, events, workshops, and activities.
